Mage class in Aion Online

Mages can only wear cloth armor and use spellbooks and orbs which are their primary weapons. Mages are very weak, known as the most fragile class of the four classes in the game, but they are able to deal the most burst damage by a long shot. In combat only when mages get luck on their side can they defeat their opponents. This has to do with the successful landing‘root’ and ‘snare’ spells to stop a foe from moving or make them move slowly. If those spells do not land though, the mage will take rapid combat damage and die.
Their features make them popular for performing ‘crowd control’. Mages receives a protective magic shield that absorbs damage so that they are able to take one-two hits from a target without consequences.
